Trama Releasing Exercise with Steve Haines

Trauma is a part of life, but it doesn't have to control our lives. Many people carry the physical and emotional effects of trauma long after the event has passed. Trauma can manifest in different ways, including anxiety, depression, physical tension, and chronic pain. The good news is that there are many techniques available to help release these deep patterns of stress, tension, and trauma.

One such technique is Trauma Releasing Exercise (TRE), and you can learn about it for free in a video event with Steve Haines. TRE is a simple yet powerful practice that involves a series of exercises designed to help the body release tension and stress from the muscles. This technique works by activating the body's natural tremor mechanism, which helps to release held energy from the nervous system.

The tremors that occur during TRE are a natural part of the body's healing process. They may feel strange or uncomfortable at first, but they are a sign that the body is releasing held tension and stress. With regular practice, TRE can help to reduce the physical and emotional symptoms of trauma, improve sleep quality, and promote a sense of inner peace.

If you're interested in learning more about TRE and how it can benefit you, don't miss the chance to join Steve Haines for this free video event. You'll discover how to practice TRE safely and effectively, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with others who are also exploring this powerful technique.

To register for the event, simply visit https://tinyurl.com/TramaReleasingExercise. Whether you're dealing with the effects of trauma, stress, or simply looking for a way to promote greater inner peace, TRE could be the tool you need to support your healing journey.

Gotu Kola – Wonder Herb for Brain

Gotu kola is a very commonly used herb in Ayurveda. It is also used as leafy green food in countries like India, Thailand, Indonesia, Srilanka and Bangladesh. It is often mentioned as herb for longevity or fountain for life because the legends say that it was taken by ancient learned people in India and china to live 100+ years.

In Sanskrit language gotu kola is called as Mandookparni. The word meaning of Mandooka is frog and Parni is leaf, its leaves have shape and appearance like a webbed feet of frog. It is also used as substitute for the herb Brahmi – another brain tonic in Ayurveda.

AYURVEDA PROPERTIES:

  • Rasa (taste) – Tikta (bitter)
  • Guna (quality) – Laghu (lightness)
  • Veerya (potency) – Sheetha (cold)
  • Vipaka (post digestive effect) – Madhura (sweet)
  • Doshaghnata (effect of Bio-energies) – reduces Kapha and Pitta.
  • Prabhava (special action) – Medhya (boosts intelligence)

  • IDENTIFICATION AND FEATURES:

The botanical name of Mandukaparni is Centella asiatica. Its synonym is Hydrocotyle asiatica. It belongs to plant family Apiaceae / Umbelliferae. It is a creeper plant with roots on the nodes of branches. The new roots from the internodes enter the soil to generate a new plant. Thus it spreads on the available soil. The margin of leaves is toothed, and flowers are whistish-pinkish. It bear small fruits.

    USES:

The leaves of gotu kola resembles the hemispheres of the brain and is used in boosting brain functions. It has been mentioned as one of the best Medhya Rasayana (brain nootopics) which can enhance cognition, memory, intelligence, creativity, learning skills and executive functions. In a research study conducted in 2016, post stroke patients were treated with gotu kola and folic acid for 6 weeks. Gotu kola was found as effective as folic acid in improving post stroke vascular cognitive impairment. This study suggested that gotu kola extract is effective in improving cognitive function after stroke and was more effective than folic acid in improving memory domain. This ability to enhance memory and nerve function gives it potential in treating Alzheimer’s disease. Gotu kola was found to possess sedative action in rats equivalent to that of a minor tranquillizer. The action appeared to be mainly on the cholinergic mechanism. It also helped in reducing the acute anxiety, stress and depression.

    Reishi: The Mushroom of Immortality

What if I told you there was a magical mushroom you could ingest that could bring you serenity, be instrumental in keeping you radiantly healthy, and help you to ward off many of the diseases that affect modern man? Yes, it is true that such a fungi grows deep in the forest waiting for you to discover its gifts. To clarify, this is not “that kind” of magical mushroom, but a rather a whole system tonic that, if regularly used, can take you on a profound life-changing journey. It is a great honor to introduce you to the very powerful, very beautiful, and very healing Reishi mushroom. If you have not met this friend before, it is a polypore mushroom that almost everyone on planet earth could benefit from.

Reishi (Ganoderma Lucidum) has been much revered as a healing ally for over 2000 years in China and other parts of Asia. The Chinese name for Reishi is Ling Zi, which means “tree of life mushroom” and “spirit Plant.” Its other names include "auspicious mushroom,” "divine mushroom,” and "immortality plant.” The Latin name lucidum, which means ”shining,” adequately describes this shelf fungus’s appearance and radiant gifts.

While such names sound grandiose, a great many healers over many eras discovered and documented that Reishi was indeed a gift from the heavens. The Taoists monks, who greatly assisted in the development of traditional Chinese medicine, considered Reishi a powerful Shen tonic (that which nourishes the spirit). The fungi consistently demonstrated a profound ability to nourish vitality, relax the nervous system, calm the mind, and promote a state of relaxed focus and concentration.

We are blessed today to have a massive body of empirical studies demonstrating Reishi’s beneficial effect on a wide variety of health challenges including allergies, asthma, bronchitis, cold and flu, candida, chronic inflammation, high blood pressure, cancer, high cholesterol, inflammatory conditions, radiation poisoning, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, insomnia, diabetes, hepatitis and more. So, let’s look a little more closely at this awesome and radiant “Spirit Plant” by highlighting some of its profound gifts.

Reishi was much revered in Asia and appears in paintings, poetry and songs

    1. Reishi supports stress management and emotional equilibrium.

As a healing tonic, Reishi helps manage stress by nourishing and calming the nervous system, helping balance the endocrine system (hormones), assisting as a cardiac tonic, and helping maintain systemic immune equilibrium. Described as a three treasure tonic in Chinese medicine, Reishi aids in the balance of jing, qi and shen, the energies of constitutional vitality, life force energy, and spiritual and mental health.

In the west we note Reishi’s gifts as adaptogenic. Adaptogens are substances that help the body, mind, and spirit adapt to stressors, be they physical, emotional or psychological. Master Herbalist Donnie Yance shares that:

Herbal adaptogens act to normalize homeostasis, optimize metabolism, and improve resistance to a variety of adverse factors. These special herbs contain a wide range of active constituents such as polysaccharides and flavonoids that fortify immune response. They act as biological response modifiers in host defense mechanisms against cancer and other chronic diseases, and help protect the bone marrow, neuroendocrine and endocrine system (including the adrenal glands), as well as the liver, kidney, brain, and other vital organs.

    He also says:

Adaptogens, besides having stress protective anabolic effects, also possess profound anti-toxic, anti-oxidative, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Thus an adaptogen like Reishi, which is particularly rich in polysaccharides, flavonoids and triterpenes, can be an incredibly helpful ally in today’s fast paced society by providing systemic support and defense to keep us healthy and strong .

    2. Reishi balances the immune system

When the immune system is overreacting, we find chronic health challenges like allergies, asthma, and auto immune disease. Reishi is known as an immunomudulator, which intelligently informs the immune system to come back into balance when it is overreacting. Reishi also strengthens immune function where it may be compromised, such as a cold or flu.

Immunomodulation is of great importance for allergies or autoimmune dysfunction (system attacking itself) because these challenges are indicative of a root problem where the immune system is in hyper mode and would benefit from finding equilibrium (as opposed to an approach where someone is attempting to manage just the symptoms).

Reishi helps create a lasting balance within one’s whole being by ameliorating and healing ailments from the root source.

    3. Reishi may greatly assist people who have cancer

When I was a young student of botanical medicine, I worked for a herbal apothecary that was largely devoted to supporting the recovery of people with advanced degenerative diseases, most notably advanced stage and rare cancers. Founded by the aforementioned Donnie Yance, this was a place where I witnessed what might be perceived as miraculous healing. The people who came time and time again to this rustic and beautiful center for their teas, tonics, and supplements were often survivors of cancers that had been given dismal prognoses by their doctors. Some, having had stage 4 cancers, massive tumors, or radiation side effects, found themselves entirely well and thriving after following the suggestions outlined in their healing protocols.

Was it magic? Perhaps. I for one believe in magical healing, but I am also a clinician, so one must look for consistencies and patterns in those healing protocols. Alas, while I am certain that deep nutritional and food-based focus, as well as other anti-carcinogenic herbs and spiritual/emotional tools, had a deep and lasting affect, what stood out most to me about each person’s healing protocol was that almost every single one contained Reishi mushroom (and sometimes other healing fungi, like Cordyceps, Chaga, Maitake and Shitake).

In his book Herbal Medicine and Healing Cancer, Donnie shares that when someone “develops cancer and is then faced with the toxicities of chemotherapy, the situation calls for Reishi. Reishi's overall effects could be described as regulatory and beneficial to the restoration of homeostasis. Its effect on the immune system is total enhancement of immune function: increase of white blood-cell count, platelets, hemoglobin, and various tumor-fighting cells.” It is shown in studies and consistent evaluation that Reishi “will also protect the body during chemotherapy and radiation and act as a preventative in the reoccurrence of cancer again.”

What is particularly wonderful here is that Reishi’s beneficial effect on a variety of cancers is consistently researched and well documented. The findings are astounding, with a tremendous amount of clinical data to explore.

    How to find Reishi

It is often said that you don’t find Reishi; rather, Reishi finds you. Being an avid botanical photographer, I lamented not having a picture to share with you here. But, lo and behold, the day after I began writing this article a beautiful mature Reishi patch appeared to me when I was out on a hike with my family. It was a spiritual experience, to say the least, and I gushed over the powerful presence of these mushrooms for a while.

Actually, I almost sunk into the bog I was in. But it was well worth the soaking feet!

Reishi is a relatively rare mushroom to find in the wild. It can be found growing on decaying hardwoods, including oaks, elms, beech, birch, and maples. The most commonly used Reishi mushrooms are the red variety, though there are six colors that can be grown: black, green, yellow, purple and white.

Due to its famed reputation, there are many wonderful sources for organic Reishi powders, extracts, tinctures, teas, and tonics. If you do decide to harvest from the wild, please make sure you can identify Reishi with 100% accuracy, as some mushrooms are poisonous. Please do take note of this about mushrooms in general.

Also remember that wild crafting a medicinal plant or mushroom asks us to only take as we need, and to do so in a regenerative way without disrupting an ecosystem or threatening the continued proliferation of the Reishi. Make sure to leave an inch or so of the Reishi stem so that it can grow another fruiting body. If you want to help the Reishi grow elsewhere, you can share your harvest with some host trees in the near environment. Please also note that mushrooms uptake toxins from the environment they are in, so know your site.

If you can, only purchase organic Reishi products for consumption. Another idea is to grow your own Reishi! There are wonderful places that sell kits of spawn or dowels, and you can make your own medicine!

To sum up, Reishi is an ancient ally for wellness and balance that many consider one of the greatest natural healing tools of our time. Given the particular stressors that we encounter day to day in the modern world, I hope that this amazing friend makes its way into many homes and hearts, and supports many on their journey to optimal wellness. I leave you now with a quick sum up of Reishi by my hero, earth guardian and mushroom steward, mycologist Paul Stamets. May the healing force of nature be with you always.

Here’s a little joke: Why did the Mushroom get invited to all the parties? Cuz he's a fungi!

It’s true! The mushroom of immortality is waiting for you.

The Neuroscience Of Singing - Why a Song Makes You Feel a Certain Way

Singing Together Brings Heartbeats Into Harmony

“The neuroscience behind singing, shows that when we sing, our neurotransmitters connect in new and different ways. It fires up the right temporal lobe of our brain, releasing endorphins that make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative. When we sing with other people, this effect is amplified.”

The science is in. Singing is really beneficial for you and the most recent research suggests that group singing is the most exhilarating and transformative of all. The good feelings we get from singing in a group are a kind of evolutionary reward for coming together cooperatively. the research suggests that creating music together evolved as a tool of social living. Groups and tribes sang and danced together to build loyalty, transmit vital information and ward off enemies.

    Science Supports Singing

What hasn’t been understood until recently is that singing in groups triggers the communal release of serotonin and oxytocin, the bonding hormone, and synchronizes our heartbeats. Group singing literally incentivized community over an “each cave dweller for themselves” approach.

Those who sang together were strongly bonded and survived. In her book “Imperfect Harmony: Finding Happiness Singing with Others, Stacy Horn calls singing: “An infusion of the perfect tranquilizer - the kind that both soothes your nerves and elevates your spirit.”

    Singing Makes You Happy

For a decade, science has been hard at work trying to explain why singing has such a calming, yet energizing, effect on people. Numerous studies demonstrate that singing does release endorphins and oxytocin - which in turn, relieve anxiety and stress which are linked to feelings of trust and bonding. Singing helps people with depression and reduces feelings of loneliness, leaving people feeling relaxed, happy and connected. What’s more, the benefits of singing regularly are cumulative.

People who sing have reduced levels of cortisol, which indicates lower stress levels. UK singer, singing teacher and choir leader, Sophia Efthimiou, describes singing as a process of consciously controlling our breath and larynx to create and sustain certain pitches and we blend that with rhythm and poetry to create songs. In a group setting, each group member feels the musical vibrations moving through their body simultaneously. Our heartbeats become synchronized. Sophia explains: “We literally form one unified heartbeat.”

    Anybody Can Sing

One of the great things about singing is that you can receive the wellbeing benefits even if you aren’t any good. One study had showed that: “Group singing can produce satisfying and therapeutic sensations even when the sound produced by the vocal instrument is of mediocre quality.” Tania de Jong, singer and founder of Creativity Australia, has effectively harnessed this ability of group singing to lift every member of the group up, no matter their singing ability.

The organization’s project “With One Voice,” puts a diversity of people together regularly to sing. The group euphoria is harnessed allowing people’s natural creativity, triggered by the group singing session, to generate new levels of community support, connection and opportunities. Tania says “One of the great things about singing is that it connects you to the right side of your brain. This the side responsible for intuition, imagination and all of our creative functions. It connects us to a world of possibilities. In modern life, we are constantly bombarded with so much information that we process and analyze. We tend to get stuck in the left, processing side of our brain.

So, it becomes fundamentally important to nurture the attributes of human beings that set us apart from machines. The best way to do that is singing.

    Sing Anywhere, Anytime

These benefits are free and accessible to all. We all have a voice. We can all sing, even if we don’t think we can. There was a time when we all used to sing. We sang at church, around camp fires, at school. While group singing is experiencing a resurgence, not so many of us sing anymore. At some stage, someone told us to be quiet or judged our imperfect singing voice. Sophia Efthimiou suggests that singing is very personal, an expression of sound coming from within us, so we cannot help but take this criticism very personally and it sticks. Yet, people who claim they cannot sing because they are tone deaf, are more likely to be very unfamiliar with finding and using their singing voice. Tone deafness is comparatively rare and means that you would be unable to recognize a song. If you can recognize a song, you are not tone deaf, you are just unpracticed. Sophia clarifies: “when our voice makes the wrong note we can feel terrible as though it’s a reflection of our self-worth. But - if you can talk, you can sing.”

    Raise Your Voice

US opera singer Katie Kat wishes to encourage all of us to sing far more regardless of our perceived skill. “Singing increases self-awareness, self-confidence and our ability to communicate with others. It decreases stress, comforts us and helps us to forge our identity and influence our world.” When you sing, musical vibration moves through you, altering your physical and emotional state.

Singing is as old as the hills. It’s innate, ancient and within all of us. It really is one of the most uplifting therapeutic thing we can do. Katie continues: “However, society has skewed views on the value of singing. Singing has become something reserved for elite talent or highly produced stars with producers, management, concert dates - leaving the rest of us with destructive criticism of our own voices. She claims that singing is instinctual and necessary to our existence.

You don’t have to be an amazing singer to benefit from the basic biological benefits and with practice, the benefits increase.

    Singing Creates Connection

I have fond memories of hearing my grandmother singing throughout the day and of large group singing sessions with her friends. One of my favorite memories of group singing, is the old Scot’s tradition on New Year’s Eve of singing Auld Lang Syne. My grandmother and all her friends would stand in a big circle just before midnight. Everyone would hold hands, and then at the beginning of the final verse we would cross our arms across our bodies so that our left hand was holding the hand of the person on our right, and the right hand holds that of the person on the left.

When the song ended, everyone would rush to the middle, still holding hands. It was beautiful fun and as a young girl, I felt so safe, included and loved within that singing circle. The phrase “auld lang syne” roughly translates as “for old times’ sake”, and the song is all about preserving old friendships and looking back over the events of the year. A tradition worth resurrecting, considering the benefits of singing in a group.

The Real Truth About Essential Oils that Nobody Talks About

Despite the fact that thousands of people report successful use of essential oils to help treat various health ailments, mainstream medical community tries to dismiss their claims.

Essential oils are everywhere; if you follow any blogs, you will find them in DIY, survival, natural health, and mommy blogs. So do essential oils really work, or are they just expensive fragrant quackery?

    What Are Essential Oils?

Essential oils carry the physical properties of flowers and plants in a highly concentrated form. Through the different processes of distillation, the volatile constituents of the plant’s oil are extracted from its flowers, leaves, branches, or roots. Essential oils carry biologically active volatile compounds in a very concentrated form that exhibit therapeutic benefits in very small amounts. The most common groups of chemical components found in essential oils are terpenes, alcohols, esters, ketones, aldehydes, and phenols. Most essential oils are antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. The antioxidant value in some essential oils alone is absolutely amazing,  just an ounce of Clove Oil has the antioxidant capacity of 450 lbs of carrots, 120 quarts of blueberries, or 48 gallons of beet juice.

There are three types of terpenes containes in essential oils: Phenylpropanoids (also called Hemiterpenes), Monoterpenes, and Sesquiterpenes.

    Phenylpropanoids:

Create conditions unfriendly to bacteria, viruses, and fungi. They are found in Clove (90%), Cassia (80%), Basil (75%), Cinnamon (73%), Oregano (60%), Anise (50%),

Peppermint (25%). Most importantly,  phenylpropanoids clean the receptor sites on the cells. Without clean receptor sites, cells cannot communicate, and the body malfunctions, resulting in diseases.

    Monoterpenes:

They are found in most essential oils. While offering a variety of healing properties, the most important ability of the monoterpenes is that they can reprogram miswritten information in the cellular memory. With improper coding in the DNA, cells malfunction and diseases result, such as cancer.

    Sesquiterpenes:

Found in Cedarwood (98%), Vetiver (97%), Spikenard (93%), Sandalwood (Aloes) 90%, Black Pepper (74%), Patchouli (71%), Myrrh (62%), and Ginger (59%), Frankincense (8%), these molecules deliver oxygen to your tissues. Viruses, bacteria, and cancer have a difficult time surviving in an oxygenated environment.  Sesquiterpenes can also erase or deprogram miswritten codes in the DNA.

Essential oils will not encourage “superbugs”

Bacteria have proven that they can mutate to form different kinds of resistant strains of “superbugs” to adapt to the toxic antibiotic drugs. Essential oils have never created a superbug.  There have been hundreds of studies clinically proving their effectiveness against pretty much all bacteria, including MRSA and other superbugs. Essential oils have been shown to have antiseptic properties against drug-resistant bacteria. According to research presented at the Society for General Microbiology’s spring meeting in Edinburgh, the essential oils of thyme and cinnamon were found to be particularly efficient antibacterial agents against a range of drug resistant Staphylococcus species which are extremely difficult to treat.According to Science Daily, a Georgetown University research study found that the germ-killing properties of oregano oil were found as effective as most antibiotics — including vancomycin — for treatment of antibiotic-resistant superbugs such as E. coli, Salmonella, MRSA and flesh-eating bacteria.

Essential Oils address the causes of disease at a cellular level.

Essential oils can penetrate the cellular wall and dispel viruses, whereas antibiotics can only kill bacteria outside of the cellular wall. One drop of essential oils contains enough molecules to cover every cell in our bodies. Just one molecule can open a receptor site in our bodies and communicate with the  DNA to alter cellular function.

Essential oils can enter the body by many avenues.

There are approximately 40 million trillion molecules in one drop of essential oil (that’s approximately 40,000 molecules for each cell in the average human body). They are so small, that they enter your body through the skin and go everywhere in your body.  Essential oils have an incredible ability to enter the body through the lungs and disperse throughout the body in a way that most other medicines are unable to achieve.

Essential oils can be diffused,  applied topically, added to your food, added to your bath. Unlike conventional drugs, essential oils  can work on all these interfaces at once.

Essential oils can also be used topically to treat all sorts of conditions ranging from acne and allergies, to headaches and indigestion. Just a few drops of essential oil applied to the hands, wrists, feet, abdomen, or lower back can provide relief for a number of ailments.

Essential oils can erase misinformation in our cells.

Essential oils have the ability to clean receptor sites on the surface of cells which allows for the proper communication between cells. Essential oils have the ability to erase incorrect DNA and then to correct it.

Essential Oils can change your nervous system biochemistry.

A Japanese study found that inhaling essential oils can modulate your sympathetic nervous system activity. Certain oils were found to be stimulating, while others were found to be calming. For example, according to Dr. Mercola:

Black pepper, fennel, and grapefruit oil caused a 1.5-to 2.5-fold increase in sympathetic nervous system activity (as measured by an increase in systolic blood pressure)
Rose and patchouli oil resulted in a 40 percent decrease in sympathetic nervous system activity
Pepper oil induced a 1.7-fold increase in plasma adrenaline concentration, while rose oil caused adrenaline to drop by 30 percent
Other oils have been shown to measurably decrease stress hormones—inhaling lavender and rosemary were shown to reduce cortisol levels.25

When purchasing essential oils, keep in mind that they are not the same as synthetic fragrance oils, which in most cases are not safe to use on the skin. Pure essential oils are

always natural. Many oils also need to be diluted with a “carrier oil”  such as coconut oil which serves as a base to add a few drops of essential oils to.

Always use a carrier oil when using essential oils on babies and children since their skin is much more sensitive to the effects

Trying to “force” yourself to come up with an idea for a passionate career will likely be unsuccessful.  Instead, the right work can come to you naturally when you let go of  “overthinking” and instead just move on to the next two steps.  The universe can bring you your passion without you having to figure it all out. So, it’s ok to forget about doing a bunch of research or career compatibility tests.  It’s ok to let go of  “looking” for right career completely.  Finding your passion can be much, much easier.

    2) Raise your vibration:

The higher your vibration, the more likely you will attract a career or passion that makes you truly happy.  With the Law of Attraction, you get in life what you energy is radiating out into it.  High vibrational energy is passionate, exciting and fun energy.  So, when you are radiating high vibrational energy, you draw to yourself passions and jobs that make you feel good.

If you’d like some easy tips on how to raise your vibration, please check out this page on my website.  You can also check out this article for more information: Why Is it Important to Raise Your Vibration ?

    3) Do what you want to do, when you want to do it

This is an idea explained by “Bashar,” a supposed entity channeled by a man named Darryl Anka.  Whether or not you believe in channels, this idea is spot on.

Instead of trudging through your day doing what you believe you are supposed to do, when you are supposed to do it, break your routine and follow what feels right. Keep asking yourself throughout the day what you want to do.

Even if the list of things for you to do today is full of tasks that feel less than exciting, you can still choose to do the day’s work in the way that feels the most appealing to you in the moment.

For example, let’s say that today you have a number of chores to do, you need to call your mom and you want to work out.  If calling your mom feels like the most appealing thing to do on the list, start with that.  When you are done, ask yourself what you feel like doing next, and so on and so forth.

Of course, when fun and exciting opportunities pop up, make sure to take them! The more fun and excitement you introduce into your life, the better.

Here is a Tedx talk about how to know your life purpose just by considering some very simple questions:

    Following your path

If you follow this path you will start to enjoy the process of “doing” more. As you enjoy the process of “doing” more, more events and circumstances will be attracted to you that you enjoy and make you feel good.  In time, this will lead you in the direction of your passion.

You may suddenly get a flash of insight, or perhaps someone will simply offer you an awesome job.  Perhaps you will get a cool promotion or you’ll run into someone who gives you a great idea for a career move.  Your passion can come to you in an infinite number of ways, and how it is delivered is up to the universe to decide.

(As for me, the dream job came in a flash of insight.  One day, at my old job, I suddenly knew I was supposed to be running a website and teaching people about the Law of Attraction.  It was a sudden, intense and instant “knowing.”)

The rule is this: do what you want to do when you want to do it, and the Law of Attraction must bring you a life’s work that is what you want to do.  You get what you are projecting out into the universe, so all you really have to do is project the vibe of a person who does what he or she wants to do, and what you want to do will come to you.

This is actually a fairly simple Law of Attraction strategy, it just requires flexibility and conscious awareness of your feelings.  So if you are interested in finding your passion, take heart-because it can be done!  Remember, stop trying to figure out what your dream job will be, keep raising your vibration, and do what you want to do when you want to do it. This is the recipe to let go and get your energy aligned with the right life’s work for you.

17 of The Most Underrated Medicinal Plants In The World

Medicinal plants contain a wide array of chemical compounds. They have a distinct order to their perfection. Natural selection pressures push these plants to "try out" variations on molecules to enhance the plant's odds of surviving stressful environments. So, often, one molecule is present in the greatest amount and has the most dramatic effect in a human body -- but along with it are variations of that molecule in the same plant.

Human beings and plants have co-evolved for millions of years, so it makes perfect sense that our complex bodies would be adapted to absorb needed, beneficial compounds from many varieties of complex plants and ignore the rest. However, no plant should be ignored when it comes to advancing human health.

    1. Dandelion

They're edible flowering plants which widely grow in South America. Dandelions are used to make recipes and drinks. Flowers, leafs and roots of dandelion are used to make food items for medicinal purposes. The act as a cleaning tonic for blood vessels while effectively increasing the functionality of the liver. They balance blood sugar and cholesterol levels. They also prevent gallstones and improve the functioning of the pancreas.

    2. California Poppy

The brilliant blooms of the poppy make this opioid plant an iconic one. The plant is an effective nervine (anxiety reliever) and is safe for use on agitated children. Can be made into a a tea for quick relief of nervousness and tension. A stronger decoction will offer pain relief. (A decoction is made by “stewing” all safe plant parts, including stems and roots if possible, in water for several hours and, ideally, soaking overnight.)

    3. Marigold

Marigold is a flowering plant which grows in wide rage of soils. They are used to cook and add color to many summer dishes. This plant can also cure many skin problems and can effectively reduce skin blemishes. It's one of the best choices for instant relief from fever. Tansy is an old-world aster and remedy, used for flavoring beer and stews as well as repelling insects. Rubbing the leaves on the skin provides an effective bug repellent, but tansy can also be used to treat worms. It is said to be poisonous when extracted, but a few leaves are not harmful if ingested.

With roots that grow 20 to 30 feet deep, alfalfa is considered the “father of all plants”. (It also contains a high amount of protein for a green.) Alfalfa originally grew in the Mediterranean and Middle East but has now spread to most of Europe and the Americans. It can treat morning sickness, nausea, kidney stones, kidney pain and urinary discomfort. It is a powerful diuretic and has a bit of stimulant power, helping to energize after a bout with illness. It effectively prevents insects and can cure insects bites almost instantly. Tea tree oil is one of the best solutions to keep fungus at bay and also prevent against head lice. It gives quick relief from cuts and burns and also is one of the fastest ways to remove dandruff. Tea tree also effective for headaches and colds.

Catnip also helps stop excessive bleeding and swelling when applied rather than ingested. This mint plant (yep, another one) is also reportedly helpful in treating gas, stomach aches, and migraines. 10. Sage

Sage is an incredibly useful herb, widely considered to be perhaps the most valuable herb. It is anti-flammatory, anti-oxidant, and antifungal. In fact, according to a noted resource World’s Healthiest Foods, “Its reputation as a panacea is even represented in its scientific name, Salvia officinalis, derived from the Latin word, salvere, which means ‘to be saved’.” It was used as a preservative for meat before the advent of refrigeration (eminently useful: you never know when you’ll be forced to hunt in the wild). Sage aids digestion, relieves cramps, reduces diarrhea, dries up phlegm, fights colds, reduces inflammation and swelling, acts as a salve for cuts and burns, and kills bacteria. Sage apparently even brings color back to gray hair. A definite concern when lost in the woods.

    11. Brucea Javanica

Beyond limited empirical observations, not all medicinal plants have established scientific studies to support their effectiveness. However, in the case of Brucea javanica, it is one of those plants in which scientific investigations have provided enough evidence to prove that it has an impressive efficacy for the treatment of cervical, bladder and pancreatic cancers. Its selective toxicity has also been found to kill 70% of breast cancer cells. Brucea javanica (Brucea javanica (L.) Merr) is one of those plants that needs far more recognition in this catergory for its incredible ability to selectively kill cancer cells.

    12. Navajo Tea

Also called greenthread, Plains Tea or Coyote Plant, this plant has been used for centuries by Native Americans to quickly relieve that most brutal and irritating of infections: the UTI (urinary tract infection). Best when made into a tea or decoction.

    13. Red Clover

Native to Europe, Northern Africa and Western Asia, red clover is now ubiquitous worldwide. The plant’s reddish pink blossoms can be used for coughs and colds, but they are an excellent detoxifier and blood cleanser as well.

    14. Sweet Marjoram

Marjoram and oregano are often used interchangeably, but the aromatic sweet marjoram is slightly different. The Greeks called it the “Joy of the Mountain” and it was revered throughout the Mediterranean for its fragrance, flavor and medicinal value. The famous French herbs de provence and Middle Eastern za’atar both use sweet marjoram. Marjoram has many uses (it’s a famous digestive aid) but it is effective as an antifungal, antibacterial and disinfectant treatment in a pinch.

    15. Feverfew

Feverfew is a plant that has well-known and documented health properties and medicinal benefits, yet it's barely ever mentioned in health circles. This anti-inflammatory can treat rheumatism, arthritis and, most famously, migraine headaches and tension headaches. It’s also good for alleviating tension and general anxiety (it is a natural serotonin inhibitor). It also helps to reduce swelling and bruising. Though feverfew is most effective when taken daily, it can be a helpful pain reliever when no Advil is on hand.

    16. Sweet Violet

Native to Europe and Asia, sweet violet is cultivated around the world and is a pleasant, delicate purple color. When brewed into a syrup the plant is effective as a treatment for colds, flu and coughs or sore throat. However, when made as a tea, it is wonderfully effective for relieving headaches and muscle and body pain.

    17. Winter Savory

Winter savory is your savior against insect bites and stings. One of the most effective natural plant treatments for bug bites is originally from Europe and the Mediterranean but often shows up elsewhere thanks to global trade. In addition to being an antiseptic, it is delicious -- used for flavoring meats and stews -- and all parts are edible.

11 Reasons Dehydration Is Making You Sick And Fat

Digestive, skin, bladder and kidney problems, fatigue and headache are just some of the adverse effects from not drinking enough water.
We need it as much as air we breathe in ! It’s not a joke.

Did you know that when you start feeling thirsty your body is already dehydrated? The best practice is to sip water throughout a day. Have it always handy!
If you’re not a morning person, have two glasses of water right after you wake up. It will boost up your blood pressure to normal levels, and it’s way healthier than having your first coffee on an empty stomach.
Also, don’t think that sweetened juices, soda or tea will hydrate you as well as water does. It’s actually the opposite! Sugar, as well as salt, makes your body waste precious water just to clean it out from your system. And if you love your coffee, make sure to drink one extra glass of water for every cup you have.
And as an added bonus, drinking water speeds up your metabolism and makes you feel more ‘full’. You will eat less once you start drinking more! It’s the safest and healthiest way to lose some weight.
